Brink multiplayer is this true?

Hello so i think im gonna buy the game Brink on the ps3 now i have been hearing that theres no one online just full of bots now is that true or is it just a hole bunch of bull crap because they dont like the game so other people dont buy it? And can you help me what game to buy and dont say infamous 2 please. I like shooters and adventure games with alot of destruction and action Plus a game that im never ever gonna get bored and play for hours and hours.
