Fridge quit need help?

Maytag model# rsd24a it was making a random clicking noise the last few days, woke up this morning freezer contents were thawed fridge was cool but not cold. Anybody got any clues on what the problem is because i don't want the maytag repair man to rip me off because of some $5 part. thanks for reading and again for answering
